The experimental results show that different neutralizers have significant effects on the solubility of ShieldBiso™ DPDT. Among them, arginine system shows the highest solubility, which not only improves the gentleness of the system, but also provides a better solution for the high transparency formula. Triethanolamine and Aminomethyl propanol are the mainstream choice in the market at present, because of their solubility and convenience of industrial application.

It should be emphasized that ShieldBiso™ DPDT itself is difficult to be directly dissolved in water, and it must be neutralized by alkaline substances to form a soluble structure before it can stably exist in the water phase system. Suggestion on formula application
Combining experimental data with practical development experience, we suggest:
- Amino acids (such as arginine) or organic amine neutralizers are preferred to improve dissolution efficiency.
- To control the order of addition in the neutralization process, it is suggested to neutralize first and then disperse.
- Carefully adjust the pH range to avoid the instability of the system caused by local overbased.
- It has a good application prospect in refreshing, waterproof and transparent sunscreen products.
